To the small and simple cafes of London, quietly ticking over. Overalls, formica tables, a portable calor gas heater in winter, small cakes in colours no longer seen elsewhere, stainless steel teapots.
My project about the surfers of Tynemouth in the North East of England has been published by the BBC. I am interested in the North East’s spirit and sense of place and how this connected to the surfing in the North Sea. I am also interested in the inclusive nature of surfing in the North East, everyone together.

The Galgael workshop in Govan is a welcoming place full of great people, where the most marginalised in the city can come and learn to work with wood, built boats and feel like they are part of a wider family, a clan.
